We are loving the warmer weather here at the moment. So much easier to get going and find motivation to do things. Heidi has been crafting up a storm and absolutely loves 'gluing'.
Lewis is certainly finding that ice-blocks are by far the best thing about spring/summer as he embarks on his first hot season with teeth :-)
We are approximately 60 days into our feedlotting, this week some were brought to the yards to be weighed and fat-scanned so that the top animals could be identified and sent on their way. The kids and I, in the smoko van, had to wait patiently for the first mob to pass.
Not a bad view!
Many "hello Dad's" and "hello Poppa's" could be heard echoing down the laneway as they passed.
We even had time for a couple of laps on "Coorumburra Fergie" who is affectionately know as "Bergie" by her number 1 fan, Miss Heidi.
A few laps is never enough for this little cowgirl, who had to be coaxed off "Bergie" with the promise of warm cinnamon scrolls at the smoko table.
We stayed to help process the steers, with very pleasing results.

Lewis was just as keen to get in on the action.
And finally, Mickey is back from the brumby paddock, so he to is enjoying many, many laps around the yard. His efforts are rewarded with a nice slice of Lucerne - the way to any shetland's heart!
