A Day In Paradise

The kids and I picked up Poppa and headed to Paradise Lagoons Campdraft last week to cheer on Aunty Tayla.  I dressed them up about as 'cowboy' as we get.

Lewis was the cutest little cowboy I've ever seen!  Don't let the boots and hat fool you though - he still refused to get within 10 feet of a horse!!

Heidi took a lot of convincing that jeans were a better option than the pink flowery dress she had picked out! However, after I promised that Tayla would give her a ride on her horse, jeans and pink sparkly ariats were quickly donned.  I also had to promise that she could wear the pink flowery dress next time we go to town!

Rhys enjoyed lots of Grandma cuddles...

Of course it wasn't just about the fashion.  We cheered Tayla through three excellent runs.

We had such a great day, spectating and enjoying the wonderful facility that is Paradise Lagoons.

Lately At Our Place

We have been transitioning, with our last 'new baby' getting too big for his 0000 clothes, I have packed them away for the very last time.  Although I am a little sad to say good-bye to the tiny newborn stage, I am happy to have the first three months over and done with!

Everyone is enjoying having a much more interactive, responsive baby in the house.

Four months now...

...and still a king of style!

Lewis is loving anything 'truck' related at the moment.  He relishes any chance he gets to hop on board anything diesel powered!  He particularly loves the 'cat' (bobcat).  Darryn has now resorted to spelling it to me when he is informing me of his work for the day as Lewis goes crazy at the mention of 'bobcat' and will not let Darryn leave the house without him!  When he's not riding shotgun, Lewis resorts to carrying around his truck books and constantly reminds me what a truck is with much pointing and exclaiming 'truck'!!

Tayla came and stayed for a few days to help with preg-testing, mustering, child minding, gardening and plenty of other things.

Heidi is getting good on a slide gate.  She gets quite frustrated when the men/women (Poppa/Tayla)  in the back yards don't listen to her orders instructions.  With a total of three and half years experience she has deemed herself more than qualified to dictate how many cattle are required at any one time, if it is time to bring the next one in and that all work must cease while she does a wee! Oh and there are plenty of "I can do it by myself!".

Cheeky girl!

Lewis is picking up on what is required in terms of yard work, although his spurts of helpfulness are relatively short-lived.

This photo shows Heidi sporting a blonde wig! She had to bring it to the yards and couldn't possibly wear a hat because she had her wig on!

And finally, Rhys and I had a trip to the Rocky Swap, with the two big kids left home with Daddy.  Rhys enjoyed all the attention!
