2017 - A Happy New Year

Hello 2017.  So far we have had a great year.  A few of these clouds have delivered us some beautiful rain totals which certainly makes everything much easier to bear.

We have been busy delivering smoko's onsite.  The kids absolutely love any opportunity to get amongst the real 'work' going on around the place.

Rhys is now crawling around at super sonic speeds.  While he is yet to master the stairs (there's only 3) I am now having to wonder where three children are when all goes quiet.  His new found talent means that he never sits still.  Heidi and Lewis are constantly asking me if they can 'nurse Rhys' but he is just too wiggly for sibling cuddles and takes any and every opportunity to escape their clutches.

Now he is getting all about the house - a trail of mischief is what he leaves behind.

Lucky he's cute!!

We are eagerly awaiting the birth of some piglets.  While Peppa's (on the left) due date is a little way off, Sparkles (on the right) is about to burst!! Her tummy is almost touching the ground!

Lewis's new horse riding helmet has got them both asking to ride 'Bergie' every day.  I captured this tender moment between brother and sister five minutes before a huge argument broke out as to who was going to ride Bergie first!!

With Lewis's new found love of horse riding, there's a line-up at the mounting gate!

We have also spent much of the new year trying to 'beat the heat'.  Rhys has got the idea with this his first summer.

Lewis still enjoys a day sleep, however lately he has been coming up with the "I'm not tired".  Below are two examples of days when he assured me he wasn't tired!!

So it seems the new year is zooming by at an alarming rate, with January half over in the blink of an eye.  This little dynamo is off to kindy in a few short weeks.  Can't believe we are about to be sucked into the school life realm of lunch boxes, uniforms, bus drop-off and pick-ups, etc...  This little family has certainly been marching to the beat of its own drum all these years with Lewis sometimes not rolling out of bed until 9am!!  We are all in for a shock as five days a fortnight our little routine gets tightened up.  Although I am looking forward to watching her grow as she is exposed to this next step in her childhood.

So as we zoom into 2017 here's to making it the best one yet :-)

Christmas 2016

I absolutely love Christmas!! I love presents.  I love Santa.  I love the Christmas spirit.  I love the weather.  I love food.  I love holidays.  I love family.  With all of these put together I LOVE CHRISTMAS.  This year we got to spread it out over pretty much the whole month!!

A visit from Mama....

Lots of presents for the sandpit, which inspired Darryn to create this little masterpiece.  Mama supplied all the attachments, Daddy built the frame and Mummy did the painting (with a little bit of help).  The kids absolutely love it.  Although it does seem like we have them in some sort of pre-army training!!

Then Poppa turned up bearing gifts...

Heidi desperately wanted a Spiderman bike.  Poppa delivered and she couldn't have been happier!!

A new riding helmet for Lewis.

 And some blocks for Rhys.

Of course the new helmet had to be tried out straight away...

 ...'Bergie' loved it :-)

Part 3 of our Christmas celebrations included our annual holiday to Agnes Waters.  Off to the beach we went to meet up with all of my family.

First things first - presents!!  Six kids, 6 and under in age equalled an explosion of wrapping paper.  The most wonderful present opening frenzy ensued after this photo!

Even Rhys was starting to get the hang of this present opening business.

Some family photos were staged - Absolon and Atkinson cousins

Grandma and Grandad with their great grandchildren.

4 generations.

Finally it was time to hit the beach!!  I wasn't sure how Lewis would go with the waves and salt water - well he absolutely loved it and couldn't get enough!

Rhys too, enjoyed the salt and sand more than I expected.

We squeezed in a trip to the Bundy Rum factory.

The kids enjoyed the playground more than the Rum tour!

So that's our wrap on Christmas 2016...

...Happy New Year from our family to yours xoxo
