Lately

There has been plenty of work to do lately, we have been down at the yards helping get the cattle ready for this years feedlot stint.

200 head have gone onto a full feedlot ration to 'finish' them for the EU market.  With cattle prices so good this year we have squeezed as many as we can with a 'go hard and fast' attitude to turn them off as quick as possible.  100 No.4 steers and 100 No.3 heifers are currently being fed morning and night - needless to say both our work and social life now resembles that of a dairy farmer (well Darryn's does anyway ;-) )!  Lewis has become a little too wiggly for long stints in the pram now so has been upgraded to the portacot.  It keeps him out of mischief and when nap time approaches he's all set.  Heidi spends most of her time in the ute as the noise and general size of the cattle is just a bit too "fright" for her.  Although she has been venturing out a little lately and loves chasing the cattle up the race - as long as Mummy holds her hand :-)

In chook news, we welcomed Smokey to the family.  He is lovely and puts up with these cuddles most afternoons.

Things have dried off considerably here of late, so regular lick runs have started.  Who doesn't love a tractor ride!

"Stand back Mum, very sticky!"

The playdough has been out - much to Lewis's delight.  There seems to be less and less each time I pack it away....

We have been potting up some little plants for Nana's Cancer Council Street Stall at Christmas time.  These two little helpers made sure that we finished up with one big mess!

A sick little girl had a trip to the Doctor and came home with some antibiotics and a puffer "just like Daddy's".  Back to her usual mischievous self now thank goodness.

It hasn't been all work though,  Mummy and Daddy had a night out celebrating Cameron and Amy's Wedding.

And there's always time for a little relaxing...
